Our Initiatives

CCEC educators provide free, curriculum-linked classroom presentations on climate change for grades K-12 in NL. These presentations are specifically designed to explain the science behind climate change in an engaging, age-appropriate manner. Our educators make students feel empowered by discussing actions we can take to mitigate climate change.

We want NL youth to feel empowered in the face of climate change. The Youth Engagement Funding Initiative provides up to $1,000 for youth-based projects related to climate change.

What We Do

The Climate Change Education Centre (CCEC) provides classroom education, funding for youth projects, and community outreach on climate change. Our goal is to educate the Newfoundland and Labrador community about the science, impacts, and solutions for tackling climate change. Since 2002, the CCEC has been part of Conservation Corps NL. Every year, we serve over 15,000 youth and community members.

If you would like to discuss a presentation for your classroom or community group, let us know!
