Identifying a Problem

There are several signs that you may have a problem with your septic system. You may have an issue if any of the following occurs:

  • See or smell sewage in your pipes or drains, on your basement floors, or on the ground around your septic field.
  • There is reduced flow in your drains.
  • You or your neighbour's well is frequently contaminated with coliforms or e. coli.
  • The grass above the septic field is unusually green or soft and saturated with water.
