How does the Green Team Program work?

The Green Team Program offers youth meaningful employment opportunities in a supportive team setting. Green Teams focus on local environmental and cultural projects developed in partnership with communities, organizations, and corporate partners.

What to expect from the Green Team Program

Youth Working Together

Youth ages 16-30 will become part of a team to work on a local project with environmental or cultural significance.  Learning to work with others, to constructively deal with conflict, and to communicate are skills that will enhance nearly every area of your life!

Meaningful Employment

CCNL works with community partners to ensure that all projects will have a meaningful impact on the local area.  This means you get to be a part of something that will benefit your community for years to come!

Enhanced Training

CCNL works hard to equip youth with training and experience that will enhance overall employability and offer youth new and valuable skill sets for the future.

CCNL expects that each employee diligently take responsibility for contributing to a successful project and a successful team.

The chain of command employed by CCNL ensures that every employee has someone to rely on at all times.  Team Members can rely on Team Leaders; Team Leaders can rely on Regional Supervisors; and everyone is offered support and guidance by CCNL senior staff who are committed to providing all employees with the best experience possible.  Have a question? Unsure of the next step? Just need someone to talk to?  At CCNL, you will always have someone in your corner to work through challenges and offer encouragement.

The Green Team Program is structured to offer advancement opportunities to returning staff.  While not every Green Team Member can become a Team Leader (trust us, the math just doesn’t work), we want to see you succeed and we actively structure our programs to provide stepping stones to reach your goals.

"Being a part of this and getting to work as a part of this project and this kind of positive development in the community is definitely an honour. I'm so grateful to be a part of it."
- Alex, Green Team Member (2016)
